Hey, everypony! :)

In my last journal entry, I told you that I would provide explanations into the personal research I did on some brony-themed social networks. Well, I'm a brony of my word, so here we go:

To anyone who doesn't know already, I am a frequent user of BronyNet.com, a fantastic social networking website for bronies. About a week ago, I began some personal research on the other well-known brony social networks, to see what separated BronyNet from the rest. I created accounts on three websites: Cloudsdale (www.cloudsdale.org/users/4f672…), iBrony (www.ibrony.com/BlueCinema), and PonySquare (ponysquare.com/BlueCinema).

After being on these sites for about a week-and-a-half, I've come to the (unsurprising) conclusion that BronyNet is the BEST social networking site for bronies! PonySquare came in at second, iBrony in third, and Cloudsdale (with all of its amazing praise) came in dead last.

Cloudsdale: I was deeply disappointed when I signed up for this site. There are very little features. The "Clouds" (groups) that you can join get really annoying whenever people keep using the chat. You are notified in the bottom-right corner of how many messages have been left since you last had the chat window opened, and if you joined a rather popular "Cloud", the number of notifications can jump fast. Also, you can't search for specific people, groups, or anything else. If I don't see anything change, I may just leave it altogether.

iBrony: It's....ok. Jacob Pritchett (the creator of BronyNet) is right, though: iBrony and PonySquare are basically clones of each other! iBrony does have potential. Unfortunately, it appears that many of its members are inactive. The pages take a little longer to load on iBrony than it does on PonySquare (7 seconds may not sound like a lot, but it was noticeable to me). Almost the entire site was down a few days after I created my account, and when it came back up that evening, it didn't recognize my log-in information. I later found out that many accounts were deleted when the site went down, including mine. I recreated my account, but it's probably not worth it. I may leave this one as well.

PonySquare: Again, both iBrony and PonySquare are basically clones. The only difference between the two is that PonySquare has active members. I can only describe most of their members with the following image:

ponies everywhere

RPs...RPs everywhere!

14 of the 36 friends I've made there so far are RP profiles. I can handle the RPs on BronyNet, but I got into a "Hug War" with an RP on PonySquare (which is still going on as of this post), and it's starting to get slightly annoying.

I'm only going to stay on PonySquare because I'm also getting some well-known musicians/artists to friend me on there. Already, I have AcousticBrony, BluSkittle, BronyDanceParty, BronyMike, Circuitfry, Cyril Lyric, DJ MHM, General Mumble, iBringDaLULZ, Interrobang Pie, LaserPon3, Matt (d.notive), MusicalBrony, My Little Dashie, MyLittleVisuals, Omnipony, Ozzwald, StormWolf, Tetrapony, and WoodenToaster as friends, and I hope to get more. The reason for this is to see if I can recruit them to BronyNet, without pushing it in their faces. We'll see what happens.

The good thing about bronynet is that it's for people, not OCs.
